Homeschool Mother’s Journal

  • In my life this week…

This week has been a fairly uneventful week for us. Saturday I will take a belt test in karate which is an activity we participate in as a family, so my husband and Danger Girl have been helping me practice.

  • In our homeschool this week…

We are still on our summer break, but I have been spending time in prayer and research for our upcoming school year. We do some reading every day, and Danger Girl spends time doing activities on the computer or making her own books.

  • Helpful homeschooling tips or advice to share…

The most important thing you can do is pray for guidance. Many of my original plans for our school year have changed as I have prayed about this particular aspect of our lives.

  • Things I’m working on…

I am currently working on lesson plans, purchasing for school, and making a “mommy binder”.

  • I’m reading…

Danger Girl and I are currently reading “Little Men” by Louisa May Alcott, “The Story of the World: Volume I” by Susan Wise Bauer, and “The Pilgrim’s Progess” by John Bunyan.

I am reading “School Education” from the Charlotte Mason series

  • I’m cooking…

I have plans to make a bacon cheesecake on Saturday.

  • A photo, video, link, or quote to share…
