I usually talk about work-from-home models in general terms, but if you are looking to create your own business from home, you may be wondering what your options are.
The good news is freelance and other work-at-home options are viable income sources. 36% of the U.S. workforce are freelancers. 77% of freelancers report that freelance work has allowed them to quit other jobs successfully.
Figuring out how to transition to a work-from-home option can be tricky. The options are numerous and the possibilities are ever-changing as companies discover the benefits of hiring remote workers. That being said, I can give you a run-down of some of the more common options available.
So, what are your options?
The quick answer is, almost anything you can think of. That answer is still looking at it in general terms however, and if you are stuck trying to come up with ideas that doesn’t help.
To answer more specifically, this will need to be done in a series. Think of this as your table of contents to that series. I will list the different options, and link to more specific material in this list so you can get a more in-depth look at each.

Getting the Most Out of This Series
To get the most out of this information, I recommend you use the Journaling for Entrepreneurs method: grab a journal and start writing down ideas. Start with the three questions to ask yourself and see how your answers fit in with the different ideas.
Journaling for entrepreneurs is an important first-step to make sure your pursuits are in line with what will work best for you, and the journaling process will help you keep your goals in mind as you continue your journey.
And remember, these are basic ideas. Check out the options I share, compare them, make a list of the ones that seem interesting to you, and then make them your own. These are not binding forces but a step to help you create your own idea.
There is no rule that says you are bound by only one idea. There is no rule that says you are bound by only these options.
Would you add any options to the list? Let me know in the comments and I will see about adding it.
